When did you realize beauty is your passion? 

My mother taught me at a young age about the importance of taking care of our skin and using high quality products, and, in my teens, I experienced how impactful it can be to feel good about the way you look, not for others, but for yourself: it made me happier and more confident. As I was finishing college, I wanted my job to make an impact on people’s lives and that’s when I realized that beauty would be an ideal way to combine the learnings from my personal experiences and my education. After my first internship, I knew I had made the right choice: beauty was going to play a key role in both my personal and professional lives.

What does ‘back to essence’ mean to you?

To me it means simplicity, high quality, and timelessness. “Less is more” is how we phrase it in my family. Going back to my essence is reconnecting with an old friend, getting lost in the pages of a book, or reaching for that piece of clothing that I bought years ago but that is still as flattering and makes me as happy as the first time I wore it.

How do you stay true to yourself when going about your day-to-day life? Any daily routine that helps you to stay centered and authentic?

My skincare routines are essential to me. My morning skincare and makeup steps wake me up and prepare me for the day and my nighttime routine helps me to unwind and get better quality of sleep. For me, they are the times that I let my mind and thoughts run free, preparing for the day ahead or thinking about the events of the last hours. Some of my best ideas come to me during those times. On the days that I skip them – because…aren’t we all human? :P – I feel it….I would be a little more distracted or wake up feeling less rested.

Most rewarding aspect about working at Glossier?

The fact that at Glossier we want to spark conversations and connections through beauty. People, more specifically our community, is truly at the center of everything we create and we want to bring them joy and happiness in every interaction, whether it is with a new product or with an Instagram post. These are the reasons why I wanted to work in beauty and develop new products so it has been incredibly rewarding.
